About Mrs. Cookish Mrs. Cookish has been teaching in Ludlow for over 8 years. During the first three years of teaching, Mrs. Cookish split her days between teaching special education reading at Ludlow High School and teaching reading/math at Veterans Park Elementary School. In 2008 Mrs. Cookish was given the opportunity to have one permanent home, and Vets Park was the place! Mrs. Cookish teaches 4th and 5th grade Special Education in both the pull-out and inclusion settings. She loves that she has the chance to meet and work with so many students, especially in small group settings during Reader's Workshop. Mrs. Cookish graduated from Endicott College in Beverly, MA with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology. Directly after graduation she moved home and enrolled at American International College and earned her Master's Degree in Elementary Education and Reading. In 2005 Mrs. Cookish was extremely excited to be hired in Ludlow as a special education teacher, but this meant more college was needed! In 2007 Mrs. Cookish married Mr. Cookish (a teacher too) and also earned her Special Education Certification from Westfield State College. In 2011, Mr. and Mrs. Cookish's beautiful daughter Kenna was born. Mrs. Cookish is very, very, busy, sometimes too busy, but she can't sit still and this is why she loves to learn and grow as a teacher. Mrs. Cookish continues to take technology, literacy and advancement classes. In May 2013, Mrs. Cookish graduated from Elms College with her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Education and Special Education. In her spare (not much!) time, Mrs. Cookish loves to spend time with her family (especially her lively, energetic daughter), friends and adorable bichon Brady. Mrs. Cookish also loves to hike, run, explore, shop, travel and teach aerobics.
